BALKAN LITERATURE PLUS UPPER SCHOOL ENGLISH: DUE 10/6/2017

- If you would like to submit your revised haiku to Soundings--and have my approval--please send it to Mrs. Silverstein at JoanS@td.edu, and copy me (ginny.light@yahoo.com). Put in the subject line of your email: YOUR NAME--SOUNDINGS 2018.
- Remember that Friday is SSR day! :D

BALKAN LITERATURE
- Tomorrow, we will have SSR!
- Please annotate the “Uranus” myth. I will check this on Tuesday.
- On Tuesday, we will finish discussing the chart on the Chinese, Ugandan, Blackfoot Indian, and Judeo-Christian creation myths. We will have a quiz on these four myths and charted trends on WEDNESDAY.
- I will collect grammar and content codes on WEDNESDAY before your quiz. Please see Homework Guidelines.

ENGLISH 9

- Tomorrow, we will have a VOCABULARY QUIZZER and SSR.
- CONTENT AND GRAMMAR CODE REVISIONS ARE DUE ON TUESDAY.
- Based on our MUG shots #1 and #2, you should be (re-)acquainted with: possessive apostrophes (singular, plural), commas in a series, the Oxford comma, introductory commas, spelling (February, then/than, threw/through, Mississippi, insurance, interrupted), hyphen use, nonrestrictive (which) clauses, parallel structure, fixing a comma splice.
- Based on our Literary Term PPT, you should be familiar with [review your class notes!]: theme, story-telling arc, protagonist, antagonist, anti-hero, foil.
- Next week, we will go over suspense, foreshadowing, characterization, and irony in "The Most Dangerous Game."

BRITISH LITERATURE
