9:00 am – Tour buses depart for Bilbao to see the Guggenheim Museum
and its 20th century avant-garde architecture
American architect Frenk O. Gehry is the creator of this daring, sculp-
tural design. The building itself is an extraordinary combination of
interconnecting shapes. Octogonal blocks in limestone contrast with the
curved and bent forms in titanium.
In groups of 20, T-D travelers will receive a personalized 1 ½ hour tour
of all three floors with special attention being given to the Giorgio Armani exhibit.

12:00 noon – Enjoy a quick lunch in the museum cafeteria or outdoor
restaurant

12:45 pm – Depart Bilbao for Guernica through Vizcaya’s coastal hills.
Guernica suffered one of history’s greatest terror bombings – a city
virtually erased from the map just before World War II. About 2,000
civilians were killed as 100,000 pounds of bombs were dropped in three
hours.
While the city was saturated with bombs and virtually destroyed, an oak
tree miraculously emerged unscathed – El Arbol.
The city of Guernica and the painting “Guernica” by Picasso have now
become synonymous with the horrors of war.

Begin packing for Monday’s departure

11:00 am – Buses depart for Piscina Bernardo Picornell in Montjuic,
adjacent to the Olympic stadium
T-D pays your entrance fee. It covers use of the indoor pool, outdoor
Pool, sauna, gymnasium, fitness equipment, and jacuzzis

Enjoy lunch poolside

7:00 pm – Return to hostel or hotels

8:00 pm – Revisit Olympic port for dinner

11:30 pm – Buses return to hostel

Adults or those not wanting to swim can visit the Castell de Mintjuic,
built for Archduke Carlos of Africa, the Estadi Olympic and the Fun-
dacio Miro

Dinner will be on own

7:00 pm – Buses return from pool for hostel and hotels to freshen up

8:00 pm – Revisit Olympic Port

11:30 pm – Back to hotels or hostels


MONDAY 8:00 am – Breakfast at hotels and hostel
MAY 28TH
Your Iberia Flight #6187 leaves at 10:20 am and connects in Madrid.

The last leg departs at 1:15 pm on Flight #6251 arrives at JFK at 3:10
pm.

You’ll all be in a “New York State of Mind”

N.B. All dates and times are subject to change and so will this during your visit. Changes will mostly be made due to unexpected events, traffic, and other people’s schedules.
